Any of numerous usually rhizomatous hybrid begonias derived from an East Indian plant having rough-textured leaves patterned in silver and bronze and purple and red-brown with inconspicuous flowers. Synonyms: beefsteak geranium, king begonia, painted-leaf begonia, rex begonia.
