Hereditary disease (autosomal recessive) consisting of an error is mucopolysaccharide metabolism; characterized by severe abnormalities in development of skeletal cartilage and bone and mental retardation. Synonyms: dysostosis multiplex, gargoylism, Hurler's disease, Hurler's syndrome.
